Scholastic has made this resource available during this interesting time. They will be posting new articles daily. Right now they have 5 days posted and reading just one day at a time would probably take 30 minutes and would complete your reading requirement. Scroll to the bottom to find the 6th grade level magazine. I just want to give you options.
6th Grade Challenge- THE 40 BOOK CHALLENGE
Welcome to 6th Grade
This year we are encouraging the students to participate in the 40 book challenge. All 6th graders will be challenged to read 40 books this year. That breaks down to about one book per week. You're right if you think that this is a very big and challenging goal for 6th graders! Remember, students are expected to read every night for 30 minutes or more. If students consistently read for 30 minutes or more per night, this goal is very attainable!

- Students should choose which books they want to read. There are some requirements such as authors or genres that students are required to select from
- Books that are over 250 pages count as 2 books.
- Try to broaden the range of different genres (types) of books that you read. Students are expected to read at least one book from the required genres and authors. There is even a parent choice and a teacher choice.
- Students will need to take their recording page to a teacher and tell them about the book to pass it off.
- Students should be reading books that are on their reading level and if they need help selecting books, please let us know.
